Pushing music to the speed of geek, ArcAttack is using Tesla Coils to produce the Doctor Who Theme. If that’s not a geek wet dream I don’t know what is. Of course a few traditional instruments are needed, and obviously a guy dressed in a faraday suit for all those moments of visual geekotica.
During the Makers Fair in San Mateo, California, ArcAttack played the popular Doctor Who theme staring two singing tesla coils. In addition to there already considerably geeky setup a man wearing a Faraday Suit stood between the two coils and manipulated the electrical arcs. I’ll need to track down all the info for this film clip(for the song Parlez-vous_français? | do you speak french) but the guy Alex Roberts, who did this film clip for Arc vs Science walked away with the triple j award for and don’t quote me on this “Most Awesome Film Clip of all Time starring two random guys that apparently can mime really well.” Music Video of the Year (I like my award better). Yeah I know this is old news but that makes it no less worthy. Also, who could resist two Mime’s duking it out mime style on there front page blog.
