Free Games
So I’ve located a few free games in my travels online. This digital void we call the interwebz has thrown up some great freebies. For the most part I shall be offering links and instructions (Also credit for those whom pointed me in the right direction.)
Please remember, Geek-Haven does not promote the circumvention of copyright, piracy of software or the distribution of games in any way that deprives the developers there rightfull due. As for the distributers and marketers I’m sure we could all do without ! May they all find a special place in the afterlife reserved for those that would take the cream from our gaming experience and leave us with only watered down diet milk.

Steam as most of us know is a popular online delivery sys/tem. Also the company behind steam (Valve) makes some of our most celebrated games to date. I’d like to thank IvanDoomer who posted this in the steam forums for all to see.

Abandon Ware is Simply programs/software that has been left behind over time. From companies that have closed down or simply moved on. I will find tlinks to these games however due tot he dubious nature of the copyright on these titles shall not host links myself. Sorry. Oh and a link to a DOS emulator for those using windows.
Dune 2 – The Battle for Arrakis – Some games need no introductions. I’ll introduce anyway. Many people may speak of the Age Of Empires as the birth of the RTS genre. In truth it was Dune 2 that brought the RTS genre to the mainstream introducing a kind of immersion not seen in strategy games and a fluid game play that won over the hearts of former hard core turn based strategy players. Dune 2 was aWestwood Studios. The loss of westwood studios was a death toll for many. The current C&C series dosn’t do t hem justice IMHO.
4D Boxing – A game from my adolescence. 4D Boxing was developed by Distinctive Software, Inc. (DSI) from Vancouver under their secondary trade name Unlimited Software.
Abuse – Another game from the early days of my gaming. Abuse was developed by Crack dot Com, and published by Origin Systems/Electronic Arts.Unfortunately the windows versio is not available from the main site. So i have found a windows installer for you. It is interesting to note this game is linux native and comes in a Mac instaler
Armor Alley - Yet again a game from my high school years. We used to play this during computing classes. This game was developed by Three-Sixty Pacific.
Boulder Dash - This entry is mostly for my dad. He used to play this no end on the old 286 we had for the business accounts. Boulder Dash was Developed and Distributed by First Star Software
